Mandatory Quality Assurance and Ethics Training. All junior livestock (large and small animal) exhibitors will be required to participate in a Quality Assurance and Ethics Training. Currently, the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) online program has been approved by F&E to fulfill this requirement. Visit www.yqca.org and click Sign In/Register at the top of the page. Training must be complete prior to exhibitor arriving at the Fair. Exhibitor will NOT be allowed to show if training is not complete.

 

This is an official A.R.B.A. youth sanctioned show and will be governed by the latest rules of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, Eric Stewart, PO Box 426, Bloomington, IL 61701. email: ARBApost@aol.com  A.R.B.A. membership dues are as follows; Adult $20 per year (3 years at $50), Youth $12 per year (3 years at $30), Combination Husband/Wife $30 per year (3 years at $75), Single Adult Family $20 plus $5 per youth per year (3 years at $50 plus $10 per youth), Husband/Wife Family $30 plus $5 per youth per year (3 years at $75 plus $10 per youth).

 

Rules, definitions and judging procedures as prescribed in the latest edition of the exhibitor guidebook and standard of the American Rabbit Breeders’ Association, Inc. shall apply to all District and County fair rabbit shows, provided they do not conflict with any of the rules and regulations prescribed by the Department of Food and Agriculture.

NOTEThis is a Fair show. Entry to the Fair is included in exhibitors’ entry fee. All others must pay; General Admission (ages 13 & up) $11.00; Seniors (62+) $6.00; Juniors (6-12yrs) $5.00; 5 & under-Free

SHOW ENTRY INFORMATION

  1. This is a one (1) day; double (2) carry in cage shows. All carrying cages must have waterproof bottoms.  All best of breeds must stay for best of show.  If you can’t stay, please notify the show secretary.
  2. The entry fee is $7.00 per rabbit for both Meat pens, fur and wool classes are $4.00 each for both shows.  Showmanship is an additional $3.00.  Make checks payable to the Cloverdale Citrus Fair.  Payment for entries must accompany entry form for online entry.  (There will be a $20.00 service charge for returned checks.)  Entry fees are non-refundable.
  3. All fur and wool entries must be separate paid entries of $4.00 per rabbit for both shows and must be entered in the breeding class and judged. A rabbit disqualified or eliminated from regular classes may not compete in fur classes, except rabbits that are improperly entered by the show secretary.
  4. No phone entries or day of show entries will be accepted. Ear changes may be made until 5:00 pm Monday, February 13 by e-mailing Griffin Harrah at ghh02.secty@gmail.com. Changes will only be allowed in the same breed, class, sex and variety.  STATE RULE:  Substitutions can only be made within a section.  Substitutions must be made when the exhibit arrives at the fairgrounds.  A minimum $5 penalty must be paid prior to judging for each substitution made by the exhibitor in excess of two in the section.
  5. Check in with the show secretary upon arrival. Check in sheets will be emailed after close of entries.  It is the exhibitors responsibility to confirm accuracy of entries prior to the start of judging.  The only changes that can be made are to correct show secretary errors and ear changes per state rule.  Absolutely no changes are allowed at the table.

SHOW RULES

  1. Check in time is 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Judging will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
  2. Check the exhibitor’s list and verify entries upon arrival.
  3. This show will be governed by the latest A.R.B.A. rules. Filing of an entry implies acceptance of these rules.
  4. All A.R.B.A. youth fair shows are only open to youth 5 years of age as of December 31, 2022 until they reach age 19.
  5. Grooming and handling of rabbits is to be done by the youth exhibitors. No adults are allowed to pet animals on the judging tables or behind the judging.
  6. All rabbits must have a permanent earmark that must correspond to the entry form. Please check your numbers.  Only secretary error will constitute an ear change.  The show secretary is the only one authorized to make ear changes.  All changes must be made prior to the start of judging.
  7. Any officer or show superintendent will remove animals showing signs of ill health from the show room. Any animal that bites or is unmanageable will be disqualified.
  8. There will be no carriers; you will be responsible for getting your rabbit on and off the table. The show superintendent will not be responsible for any no shows!  Classes will not be re-judged for late rabbits.  No numbered cooping area.
  9. Exhibitors must own rabbit(s) for 30 days prior to the opening day of the Cloverdale Citrus Fair.
  10. All animals are entered at the owner’s risk. The Cloverdale Citrus Fair, show superintendent and/or judges are not to be held responsible for injury to, or death of animals.  Every precaution will be taken for their safety.
  11. The show superintendent and/or the Cloverdale Citrus Fair reserve the right to reject any entry. It shall decide any questions that may come up which are not covered by these specific rules.  All parties shall agree to abide by such decisions.
  12. All comment cards, trophies and specials must be picked up at the show. Legs will be emailed.
  13. The Cloverdale Citrus Fair will guarantee only those specials contributed by them and are not responsible for those donated by individuals.
  14. As a courtesy to the judges and show table personnel, please clip your rabbit’s toenails.
  15. No smoking on the fairgrounds property due to State Fire regulations.
  16. Educational poster contest see page 51 for details.
  17. Exhibitors attempting to, or actually interfering with, annoying, molesting, influencing the judge or judges, or acting in a manner unbecoming exhibitors, shall have all their stock eliminated and shall be rejected and barred from the show (official A.R.B.A. show rule section 47).
  18. No tattooing, breeding or nursing Does will be allowed in the showroom.
  19. No other animals will be allowed on premises except official guide dogs.
  20. No lawn chairs, play pens or tables are allowed inside the building: Only grooming tables.
  21. Space will be limited inside the building. Pop-ups with weights for outside are strongly encouraged. The weather can be variable in February. Please come prepared for rain, fog, wind, etc.

SHOWMANSHIP

  1. Rabbits used in Showmanship must be entered in show. Exhibitors must show their own animal in Showmanship.
  2. Showmanship classes will be determined by age as of December 31, 2022, including novice, (all first year rabbit project members. Age as of December 31, 2022).
  3. Showmanship entries must be made at the same time as the rabbit entries; Fee will be $3.00. State your age on the entry form when entering showmanship and indicate novice if this will be your first year showing a rabbit.
  4. All exhibitors are required to wear the official show uniform of the organization they represent (long sleeve shirt required). Independent Juniors and Grange must wear white ankle length pants and long sleeve shirt.
  5. Showmanship exhibitors must check in by 9:00 a.m. SR and FFA exhibitors by 8:30 am.  SR and FFA exhibitors will start showing at 8:30 am.  All others at 9:00am.  Late exhibitors will not be accepted.
  6. 6. Any contestant winning 1st or 2nd in their showmanship class may be eligible for Round Robin. The 1st and 2nd place winners of the Junior and Intermediate classes will compete in a run-off to determine the representative for Junior Round Robin. Senior 4-H and FFA 1st and 2nd place winners will be eligible for those Round Robin classes.  NOTIFY the Livestock Superintendent if he/she is unable to compete. Exhibitor is asked to supply animals for the class. Round Robin to take place Monday, February 20, 1:00 pm.

  4. Senior Doe – Over eight (8) months of age for heavyweight breeds or having attained minimum senior weight limit of breed.
