About Cloverdale Citrus Fair

The Cloverdale Citrus Fair promotes and showcases agriculture, while displaying the diverse talents, interests and accomplishments of the residents of California. This is achieved by providing educational, entertainment and recreational opportunities for the public, while continually striving towards enhancing the promotion and preservation of the second largest Citrus Fair on the West Coast!

The Cloverdale Citrus Fair began as a typical country fair in 1892 and still remains the earliest fair held in California each year.

The fair was established as a way to celebrate the abundant citrus crop that was once part of the northern Sonoma County landscape.

This event has blossomed into a major community effort, resulting in one of the most memorable and entertaining events in California. In the beginning, the exhibits and displays included little more than wooden frameworks with a few oranges affixed to the structures. Today, visitors are greeted by elaborate, three-dimensional exhibits, some as high as eighteen feet produces by exceptionally talented individuals and groups.

Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds is also home to the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the largest competition of North American wines with over 7,000 entries in 2018. In addition, the facility hosts Cloverdale AgDay for elementary school kids which teaches the importance of where food and fiber come from.

Year-round, the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds provides some of the North Bay’s best and most reasonably priced facilities for rent. The Fairgrounds is home to weddings, quinceañeras, fundraisers, festivals, conferences, and trade shows. Facilities are available for livestock shows and motorized vehicle events such as motorcycle training and car shows.

RV campers are welcome for overnight RV parking complete with full hookup sites, restroom facilities, and a dump station. RV storage is also offered on a limited basis.

On behalf of the Citrus Fair Staff and Board of Directors of the second-largest Citrus Fair on the West Coast, we would like to invite you to visit our wonderful fairgrounds. We’re sure you’ll enjoy our park-like atmosphere as well as our community.

The Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds is owned, operated and governed by the Cloverdale Citrus Fair Association, a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, and is the home of the annual Cloverdale Citrus Fair, a vital part of the Network of California Fairs whose influence is widespread.
